I am a student at John Robert Powers, noticing that there is something fishy going on at JRP. I did some research on the "acadamy" and there are hunderds of reports on JRP. Like how no one gets their refunds, they get treated like dirt, or get lied right to their face. I am switching to a diffrent agancey, because this scam, says you get high quality education, but we're stuck with some person who doesn't know anything(no offense). We have no materials, because the company is bankrupt, by all the people who want refunds. They also say you get to meet with an agent, but I havent gotten one calback since I've started, neither have any of my friends. We're all pretty good too. John Robert Powers doesnt care about you or your kid, they want your money, believe me I'm going through it right now. Do not fall into this trap people. I did. THIS IS FRAUD!!!!

I have been involved with JRP Minneapolis since July of 08 and it has been a great experience. I have gotten the opportunity to go to Los Angeles and meet with agents and managers and I am happy to report that I am going back to LA in February for a callback with and agency. The Owner and Vice President are two of the most amazing people I have ever met and I have had such a great experience and I owe it all to the coaches and to the Owner and VP

i got a callback from the audition i did last week to get into the school, but im not sure if i want to go for it because ive heard its all a scam and some JPRs are not..so im confused i dont know what to do.i think its best for me, if i want to get a role in something, like a movie, then I would have to go to LA or NYC to audition for a casting call to an upcoming movie to make it seem like its legit.

Not all John Robert Powers are SCAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  

 

I wish people would not LUMP US ALL TOGETHER 

 

 

The MPLS location has changed owners as of JULY 07 and has no complaints at the BBB since the new owner has taken over. 

 

Before you just assume that ALL JRP’S ARE A SCAM.  

 

 

Come to the audition and then make your decision after you meet with the Owner and Directors 

 

See that we are different with your own eyes 

 

 

We have kids in Movies, Commercials National and Local, Print Ads. They deliver on what they say. 

 

Go to pur MYSPACE page and check out the Blogs that our KIDS HAVE POSTED!!!!! 

 

Something is only a SCAM if you do not receive what you pay for.

Getting a callback is something that JRP cannot control. An Agent or Manager has to have an interest in the talent (child) and have room on their boards for them. Your child has been in coaching for 12 weeks (3 Months) and has received a CALLBACK. That is GREAT and also pretty quick. There are actors/actress that have been auditioning for years and never receive a callback. I am not sure why you are complaining

How did they scam you? Because you didnt get a callback? How do you know you are so good? There are a lot of failed actors who think they are "good". Go to LA, every waiter and waitress is a "good" actress who just hasn't got their chance.  

 

Your poor grammar and poor attitude make me believe that this posting is fake or done out of meanness.

i went there and they wanted money up front. after telling me i would have a promising future in the acting world. but if there asking me for money its a scam.

My daughter had to take classes for almost 12 weeks before she got a call back!
