CommentI was called again for a follow up of why we didn't go. I told the gal on the phone, I was not interested in classes and that if this was a presentation for their school to try to get people to take their coaching or classes I did not want to attend. She assured me with a gasp of oh no that is not at all what we are about. We actaully have an talent scout from LA here for just this week and now we only have one time left in her busy schedule. We want you to come in to meet her as she is going to be looking for a new talent for the disney show and also is looking for Nick. I asked again about the school and she said they did have a school there but that had nothing to do with this and we would be coming in to just audition for this LA talent scout that flew in just for this.
So, I decided that this must be legit. Of course once we got there I knew something was up. We where told to go in an auditorium type room with dozens of people. The owner came in telling us all about her background and how anything we heard about JRP was the old company and she is the new owner as of 2 years ago. She went on to talk about the school and quickly started to shift the conversation to why it is so important to get "coaching" then she had her assistant give us all a pain staking dialogue of all the kids that have gotten work by being students at jrp. It went on and on and on. Finally each kid was taken into a room with the assistant to the assistant to do a 5 second "screen test" which was a 2 sentence video of what they liked to eat. Then we where all shuffled into one of three rooms where we met with someone who told us how great the kids where, what great potential they could have if they where "chosen" to participate in the JRP program. It would take work though, coaching, teaching which they of course would offer. We where told to call in the next day to see if we where one of the lucky 10 out of all the kids that had gone. If we were we would be instructed to immediatley go to sign up for the contract the same day. We where sent home with something we "had to read" if we wanted to be good parents that wanted their kids to succeed. Of course it was all about the classes and how much they cost which start at 1,950 to excess of 9,000.
I also thought it was really funny how the owner was telling the group of her issues of trying to work on her beach home while working in the twin cities.
So I will be calling in soon and here is my guess. We will be told we where chosen and we should immediately come in to sign a contract to get started with the coaching.....how much??
Finally, there was no LA coach there. There was not an audition for Disney or Nick as promised both on the phone and TV.

This is a place where your child can go learn how to act and model and become a working actor/actress. Has your child ever taken DANCE, PIANO, GYMNASTICS, KARATE, GUITAR, HOCKEY, SOCCAR the list can go on....... What does your child get /gain from those classes/lessons Self esteem, skills, how to work as a team. JRP is no different EXCEPT that your child can make some money back. We tell you that this in NOT why you should do this. You should do this for your child because it is their passion just like any other Sport or Musical Instrument. It is TRUE you can audition for LA agents IT is TRUE that you can audition for Disney or Nick shows It is true that you can audition for Local work like Target, Best Buy, Gopher Sports, Shop NBC, ETC. It is true that you will get TOP NOTCH COACHING. It is true that we have a FREE PARENT CLASS All of these are TRUE and are DELIVERED to your Monthly ONCE YOU ARE a CLIENT AT JRP MINNEAPOLIS!!!!!! When you came in for that audition you were PRE SCREENING for an LA agent Bonnie Ventis who IS FROM LA and who was in Minneapolis in JUNE!!!!!! YOU WHERE pre screening for the Local Agent WHO WAS IN THIS EVENING and auditioned our new Talent, They will be signing 20 KIDS FROM TONIGHTS AUDITION JULY 13th 2009. SO I am really not sure WHAT your ISSUE IS. The kids that you saw in the book DO WORK on a weekly basis and have booked all of the jobs that you where told. We did not TELL YOU WE WERE ONLY PICKING 10 KIDS.... If you listened it was 10 CAST TYPES there is a HUGE difference. We also told you we would be putting them in order form 1st-3rd pick of who we wanted to move forward with. If 1st pick was not ready to move forward we would move on to 2nd PICK.... WHAT WAS THE HONESTY In that shocking to you????? AND YES we are human to and do have things that we do outside of work.... We consider JRP kids our FAMILY... I guess that you would rather have had us be up tight and rude to you??? When she talked about her beach house it was about how PEOPLES WORD MEANS NOTHING ANYMORE and how in TEXAS their word is their bond and how refreshing that is?? WHERE YOU EVEN LISTENING??? I am not sure IF YOU WENT TO COLLEGE or had to have any training for your job that you have. But YES it is TRUE that you need acting coaching to book jobs and to re book jobs. IF you speak to any actors out their they have had coaching for acting and still receive coaching even when the work. Did your child have coaching prior to this audition for TV or FILM? Has your child ever booked a job and been paid for it? How can you expect your child to be paid to do a job(booking) with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE or COACHING? Would you hire a contractor that has never worked never had any training to build your HOUSE I HOPE NOT!!!! Yes we sent you home with INFO to read and YES you need to read this SO that you can make an EDUCATED DECISION the next day and WE ALSO TOLD you if it moved to fast for you that that is OKAY and that you could re audition in 6 months. SO again what is your PROBLEM???? SO STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR ISSUE IS???? |
