I enrolled my daughter for the modeling & acting, spent $10,000. The finale was a trip to New York & be presented to potential employers. No contracts were given. To improve skills, she attended Larkin High School which specializes in the Arts, acting, etc. At Larkin High School, she did not do well in acting class. When she auditioned for roles, she always got rejected.

John Robert Powers is a school for acting and modeling. But when I talked to professionals about her abilities after the courses, there were no positive comments. What did she learn?

The school is $$$$$ oriented.

In the end, the outcome was heartbreaking because of false hopes given by course. I made a mistake in enrolling her at Larkin High School.

Location: Glendale Heights, Illinois

JRP is not a scam, it is a school. It brings in casting directors and agents weekly.

Most schools charge an additional fee, at JRP that is included in the tuition already. They are individually owned by different owners, look at the BBB for the one you are interested in if you want accurate facts. Some schools are better than others, if you research it well you will find that wrll known established casting directors validate their reputation.

Again look for facts from RELIABLE sources not just any random person ranting on the internet. Entertainment is a very competitive business.

I did not grow up in this country...

True, the course cost about $2,000 to $3,000. Then there was the photoshoot and the hotel fees, formal wear and loss of wages due to the trip to New York. My total loss was $10,000

ACTIVE ACTING SCHOOL IN CHICAGO WARNS ABOUT THESE PREDATORS:

These expensive modeling/acting classes range from $2000 -$3000, and often break down to about $50/hour. A reputable professional acting school/studio typically charges between $275 - $400 per 8 week class; breaking down to $12-$20 /hour. The “Modeling/Acting” Agencies advertise “auditions,” employ phony talent scouts and typically “call back” everyone who auditions.

Most of us have known about this for years. Where have you been?
