My 5 years old was just picked to go to ipop 2009 LA. I recieved the packet and the cost is $6,200 for her and $3,100 for the parent.

Curious if anyone has taken a 5 year old and if they acheived anything from it? This is alot of money and I'm not sure this is going to be worth it or not.

Hopefully someone out there can give me a little feed back if they had a child go to ipop and if they think it is worth it.

Thank you so much for any comments.

Do you still happen to have Courtney's contact info

I can assure it is NOT a rip-off and it is worth it. I went and I got 4 callbacks. And 8 year old from my group got every single agent to call him back.

Of course they will call you back and get "agents" to sign them. That's part II of this process.

Then suddenly your new agent will make you get more head shots, take acting classes, making you use the people they want as they all get a cut of the money; all while you pay thousands of dollars all while not actually booking a job. I'm a member of the Screen Actors Guild, I live and work in Hollywood.

Trust me, anyone legit in the industry would beg you not to attend and save your hard earned money.

Your local community theatre is the best place for ANY child to start pursuing their dreams and it sure wont cost an arm and a leg. Most community theatres have youth workshops at little to no cost.

Dont worry about the agents for now, let them enjoy being kids, learning theatre and staying close to home. Oh, and Mom and Dad can hang on the those hard earned dollars.

Parents look around you. we spend a lot of money on useless things like play station, wii, bikes, sports teams, designer clothes, vacations.

So if your child really wants to do this, let them. whether they succeed or not they had the experience and performing in front of people will give them confidence. Oprah said if you learned from it, it's tuition and see it as tuition and if they succeed then its icing on the cake.

My daughter just got called back for ipop and i don't know where to get the money but we will find a way. All I know is that she is having fun and she loves it.

Hi There,

Just curious about how it went with your daughter going to ipop? My son was called back and I was debating on taking him due to money being tight.

I was just wondering if your daughter enjoyed it and if she got anything out of the experience. Thanks!

Its about making money. If you have money to blow and can't think of a better way to take your child on a vacation, then go iPoop.

If you do the payment plan you don't belong going, no they don't accept food stamps. When you get that call back after the seminar keep in mind they will use your child against your common sense and lay down a well crafted guilt trip. All they want is your money, they will tell you what you want to hear. They will act like they are an agent and tell you "you/your child have extraordinary talent....blablabla".

Just remember that you/your child is the most talented person I have ever seen, agents will take notice the moment you arrive at iPoop and fast tract you right to the studio to offer a 360 deal...after we collect $10K from you. Did i mention our payment plan, no we don't give a discount for having a Win-Dixie card.

If your child is "really something", a You Tube video that goes viral is all that it takes to get the industry bigwigs interested. Stop wasting your money on an "experience" when it is NATIONAL exposure and natural talent that matters.

No it aint I got that same packet it is 4900 for the child and1900 for parent I'm part of ipop

Everyone listen up. I will not call anyone out as a scammer but I must tell you to NEVER EVER shell out money to anyone who promises to get you "in front of people". IT DOES NOT HAPPEN! When I or any legitimate person in the tv and film industry sees someone it is because we found them or someone we paid found them. Acting classes from a very famous coach will cost you about a hundred per class or up to 500 for a workshop. Never pay thousands for anything. Ever. No matter how wonderful the experience was for your kids. Take them on a trip they will never forget, but dont hand over your money for empty promises. This is simply not how business is done.

Next part: Casting Directors, Agents and managers are looking for you already. Do some theatre, a student film or a low budget festival movie. You wont get paid but you wont have to pay either. The chance of getting seen at a festival or hooking up with a promising film student is good. Spend your money on a great headshot and some good classes from a reputable coach who has real actors in the class.

More: An ligit agent or manager will only take a percentage of what you make. Agents are regulated by law in California and most other states. Be sure the Agent is recognized by SAG and never pay them anything but the legal 10 percent. A manager may take up to 20 percent but again, never pay up front for anything.

FINALLY: If you have been ripped off by these types of places, complain to the states attorney general and get these jerks off the streets and behind bars.

We have just been introduced to this company thru a meeting with Tower Talent! The cost of the IPOP convention in LA is absurd!

$5,400 for the performer and $2500 for one parent! Airfares and food not included! I can't justify paying this amount of money to be a part of a convention with hopes of having my child selected by an agent! So Im going to pass on this one & just continue my child with her acting classes at Tower Talent.

If the fee was reasonable, I wouldn't hesitate to attend this convention! But the cost is outrageous!!!!! Dont go guys!

Save your money & put it somewhere where it will make a difference! other wise you have just paid for a very expensive vacation!!!!!

They tell you this because they want your money, plain and simple. I have auditioned in hundreds of places and NEVER paid for the opportunity to be in those auditions.

Makes me angry. This isn't to say that you're not talented -- you may be brilliant! But that is so much money it's ridiculous.

They are vultures, you're the prey. Greed has no pride.

I signed up for Ipop in Roseville last year and I don't remember how much my mom paid for it . I originally wanted to do acting but you had to be a certain height so I ended doing Acting.

Can we sue if its been over a year and I only had 3 auditions and the website I go to is not even there . My last audition, I went and it wasn't the same people so it was weird . They don't tell you that there's upcoming auditions ...

Someone please help :/ ... I want to help my mom get the money that I thought I was gonna be a success on .
